Carbon projects vetted for companies looking for more than a ton
-
A wide net, a short list
+Any methodology, any sector, nature-based or technology-based: we vet more than a hundred projects a year and put very few on our list. The projects here are the ones we are comfortable showing today; the list changes as new ones pass. Every credit on it comes from a project we can name, explain and stand behind.
-
Beyond carbon, by design
+A ton is the floor. Each project is chosen for what it also does for people, land and water, and we say where every figure comes from.
-
Fifteen years in, looking ahead
+We have worked in this market since before it had a name, from the first methodologies to today’s integrity rules. We follow the policy, the science and the market, and take part in the conversation that shapes them, so our clients do not have to.
From the ground
Dispatches from the people who plant, cook, fish and keep watch, in their own words.

· Colombia
Where every tree begins
Every tree on the project starts in a nursery at La Primavera. Luz Marina Gaitán runs it with a team of twenty-two, most of them women from the farms around it.

· Indonesia
A coastline that holds
Siti Rahmawati's village lost its mangroves to shrimp ponds in the 1990s, and then lost the shore. This year her planting group put back its hundred-thousandth seedling.

The kitchen that stopped filling with smoke
For twenty years Afi Agbodjan cooked over an open fire in a closed room. Since March her kitchen has a stove with a flue, and the evening smoke has gone.

Room for the jaguar
Along a stream where cattle grazed ten years ago, a camera trap caught a jaguar walking the new corridor of native forest in July. Edilberto Rincón has checked those cameras every month since 2021.

The best grass in ten years
Jorge Pando split his ranch into small paddocks and moved his cattle through them. A year later, the satellite images showed the best ground cover his land had had in a decade.
The L+B matrix
A project must pass six measurements to make our list. The bar for each is a number and a judgement: what the registry can show, and what we saw ourselves.
Additional
The project would not exist without carbon finance. The bar: the standard’s additionality test passed at registration, and our own read of the business case: would this be happening anyway?
Permanent
The carbon stays stored. The bar: a buffer held back against loss (we look for 20% or more on forestry), fire and land-tenure risk covered, and our read of the developer’s staying power.
Honest
Measured conservatively. The bar: credits issued after the fact, baselines on the cautious side, a rating agency’s view where one exists, and our own check of the numbers against what we saw on the ground.
Accountable
Counted once, in public. The bar: a public registry entry with serials, retirement in the buyer’s name, and no second claim on the same ton anywhere.
Beyond
Good for people and nature. The bar: documented, attributable outcomes for communities and biodiversity, consent on record, and our own judgement of whether the people who live there would say the same.
Independent
Certified by a standard, audited by a third party. The bar: Gold Standard or Verra for every project, an independent rating where one exists, and a developer we have met, not a deck.
“Fifteen years in carbon have taught me that the difference between a project that changes a valley and one that exists on paper rarely shows in a registry entry. So I go and look. I walk the land, meet the people, and ask what a rating cannot. The projects that make our list carry more than a ton, and I put my name to them.”
What we work in
The sectors and regions on our list today. The projects themselves, with their records, figures and prices, are in the client area.
